Activities: Services for children with vision or hearing impairment (including children with additional disabilities). Services include a comprehensive assessment and planning service, a home-based early education service, a rural and remote area early education service, pre-school programs, mainstream preschool support programs, the conduct of special schools, an itinerant teacher support service, alternative format publications and school boarding, respite care and school holiday recreation programs, and a diagnostic audiology centre. In affiliation with University of Newcastle, we conduct a centre for research and professional study in the education of children with sensory impairment. This includes a Master of Special Education (Sensory Disability) which is offered on campus and by distance education (including a number of overseas students).
