Activities: Non-profit, non-governmental organisation concerned
with all aspects of eye care and visual impairment. Caters to the needs
of blind and visually impaired people in the country. Main goals are:
prevention of blindness through eye clinics and screening programmes,
medical and surgical treatments, public awareness, promotion of the needs
and rights of blind and visually impaired persons, community based rehabilitation,
promotion and support of mainstream education for blind children and students
including training in and provision of Braille, tuition and other basic
skills.
