Activities: The National Braille Library has all the facilities to enable the full book producing process is complete and can be done in the Library's printing centre: from the pre-printing to the binding of the books. The Library has a well functioning net for the distribution of the books - three branches in the country and two branches in the schools for blind children in Sofia and Varna. There is also the facility to send books by mail to readers throughout Bulgaria. The Library has more than 2500 titles now and is the only source for braille fiction and reference literature in the country.

Activities: Defense of the rights and interests of the blind citizens and their integration into society. Construction of a national and social polic, relevant to solving problems blind people face. Financing and organising activities of the National Rehabilitation Centre in the town of Plovdiv. Financing a specialised studio for reading 'talking books'. Support of the cultural. sports and tourists activities - the most powerful means for rehabilitation and integration of the blind and partially sighted into the community. Active partnership with similar organisations from all over the world. Manufacturing devices to aid visually impaire people through specialised enterprises.

Varna School for the Blind

Activities: Education for blind and visually impaired children carried out on three different levels: The first level includes blind and visually impaired students with normal intellect. They follow the regular school curriculum and regular school subjects. The graduates can continue their education in institutes for higher education. The second level includes blind and visually impaired students with additional impairments including mild intellectual deficiency. These students are trained under adapted reduced curriculum and after completing their 9 years training they can acquire professional training. The third level includes blind and visually impaired children with additional disabilities inlcuding moderate intellectual deficiency. These students are trained under individual functional programs. There are three special programs for all students: Orientation and Mobility training; Useful/Daily Living Skills training and Low Vision training. The school also offers Early Intervention and Integrated Education services. All students are offered additional activities according to their interests and talents.
