Activities: The residential school provides accommodation for 130 students. The school programme includes standard academic subjects plus mobility and orientation, low vision training and the use of modern electronic technology in communication training. The residential training centre for 60 mentally challenged blind children provides basic educational and work skills. The home for the elderly provides residential care for the elderly blind.

Activities: Private Christian school based on the love of Jesus Christ to operate. We are giving free education, free room and board. We have three Departments in the school. The earliest department began in 1956 the age of blind children were from 3 years old to 15 years old [preschool to junior high school.] The second Department is for the multiple handicapped blind children, including deaf-blind. The age of the children are 3 years old to 25 years old. The third Department was begun in 1984 to educate the mentally retarded children.

Activities: Shanghai School for the Blind, together with the affiliated Shanghai School for the low vision, is the only school in Shanghai to provide education for students who are handicapped. The Braille Printing House of the school is responsible for printing primary and middle school textbooks for all the schools for the blind in the country. Currently, there are over 200 students and more than 120 teachers in the school that has formed a complete education system ranging from preschool education, primary and junior and senior high school to vocational training. Integrating educational theory and teaching practice, the school has been trying to cultivate students who can adapt themselves to the changing society and thus become useful to the country. Scientific research is highly valued and advocated in the school for it believes that modern educational methods can promote teaching, raise work efficiency and, above all, make up for the students' eyesight handicap.

Purchasing English books in Braille and selling Chinese books in Braille to the blind in other parts of the world.
