Activities: Assistanse is an organisation for visually impaired children between 0 and 20 years. Assistanse’s main activities are: Create a social network between visually impaired children and parents in Norway; Provide information about visually impaired children and their parents, legal rights and possibilities for help and support; Arrange courses, information meetings and social events in order to enable the visual impaired children, their parents and other members of the family to meet and learn from each other how to handle the particular problems they as families are faced with; Provide information to the authorities and others about visually impaired children’s situation in Norway; Liaise and cooperate with authorities and institutions involved with visually impaired children to insure that they provide the services required.

Activities:The Norwegian Central Team for the Deafblind is a state-run resource team distributing information on deafblindness. The team maintains a register of deafblind and persons who suffer severe degrees of visual and auditory impairment. The National Central Team for the Deafblind is a subdivision of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. The team is a resource group within the fields of psychology, education and social work.

Activities: The Norwegian Association of the Deafblind cooperates with the deafblind organizations in the other Nordic countries. Together they try to find solutions to mutual problems concerning the deafblind and everyday life. NADB participates in international causes as well. They have two day centers, one in Oslo and one in Bergen. Here the deafblind can come and socialize with other members and work with different handicrafts. The informaion sector of NADB produces accessible daily news bulletins and a weekly newspaper.

Activities: Huseby Resource Centre is a part of The National Support System for Special Education (Statped) owned by the State. Huseby contributes services to the visually impaired, also persons with multiple disabilities, and their network. Huseby gives a nationwide rehabilitation service for adults with visual impairments. The centre also offers services for the deafblind, and is part of the resource system for the deafblind in Norway.

Activities: NABP's overall objective is to strengthen the position of the blind and partially sighted in society so that it is on equal terms with others world-wide. NABP emphasises direct co-operation with local partners and prioritises countries where the situation for the blind and partially sighted is very difficult. The NABP has selected three key target areas for their engagement in developing countries: Establish new organisations and strengthen already existing organisations of blind and partially sighted in order to improve their position in society. Organisation-building is given high priority; rehabilitation an income-generating activities; and treatment and prevention of blindness in co-operation with national health authorities.

Activites: Its function is to provide library services to the blind, the partially sighted, the visually impaired and others with reading disabilities. The library's services are intended for children, adults and senior citizens. Hospitals, libraries, nursing homes, day care facilities, schools and other agencies serving individuals who qualify may also apply for Braille and talking book services.NLB is the main producer of talking books and Braille in Norway. Yearly we produce about 600 talking books and 220 Braille books; in addition we have approximately 350 books for students in accesible formats (2005). All our talking books are produced according to the DAISY standard.

Activites: The primary focus is to present current information about Retinitis Pigmentosa. Therefore we hold regular meetings for our members and publish a journal four times a year. As part of our international engagement we try to attend larger international conferences on RP and to sponsor Norwegian scientists attending the annual ARVO conference. In addition we pay special attention to the cooperation between the RP-Societies in the Nordic countries and try to facilitate regular exchanges with them.

Activities: Skådalen Resource Centre represents a regional centre for hearing impaired and deafblind people. We have two schools at our centre, one for hearing impaired children and one for congenitally deafblind children. In addition we have 2 departments for consulting services, one of them is a regional centre for deafblinds. We give services for deafblind people at all ages, both congenitally deafblinds and people with acquired deafblindness, in the eastern and middle part of Norway. The regional centre is one out of four in Norway.

VB runs a course and activity residential centre near Bergen offering various physical and professional activities.
