Handwriting Devices

Many blind and partially sighted people require a simple device to help them write legibly or to put their signature in the correct place on a document. This frequently takes the form of a template which is placed on top of the paper or document. The template is often matt black to give good visual contrast against white paper.

Marks Script Guide
Composed of a clipboard which takes 216 x 279mm paper. Down the left edge of the board is a notched guide along which a carriage with a clicking device carries a 20mm slot, formed of two thin metal rods approximately 200mm long. The far end of the slot is fitted into a metal block that slides on the rods to serve as a margin stop. The carriage hinges on the notched guide so that it can be raised to simplify insertion of the paper. Several sheets of paper can be installed at a time for removal as they are filled. Board will also accommodate envelopes, postcards and other paper sizes.
