Electronic calculators with speech output, large character LCD displays and print output have, due to their cheapness, superceded Braille devices. Those with residual vision frequently have problems with the visual displays on electronic calculators; some people find red displays particularly difficult to read, while others have problems with low contrast liquid crystal displays.
