In this section:

Project Tools

This section highlights the importance of specific tools needed to successfully complete accessible ICT research or design projects.

This section has four sub-sections:

Methodologies for evaluating accessibility

There are several main methodologies available to evaluate ICT products and systems for accessibility issues.

Participating in research

Some projects may require a sample of people from the blind and partially sighted population to participate in the research because their input is regarded as invaluable.

Recruiting participants

The RNIB Scientific Research Unit has compiled an ever-expanding database of blind and partially sighted people who are willing to participate in non-medical scientific research, in the UK, that influences the design of equipment and systems for the blind and partially sighted.

Tiresias family of fonts

The Tiresias family of fonts have been designed for optimum accessibility and usability. There are five fonts available to download for free. Tiresias Screenfont is available to buy from Bitstream.
